Let's learn how to add Contacts, create a group, and manage them.
Adding Contacts
1. Navigate to the Contacts section from the left navigation pane of the admin app.
There are two ways to add contacts in the VoiceStack Admin App.
Option 1: Create a Contact Manually
1. Click + Create Contact.
- In the Add Contact window, enter the following details:
- First Name (mandatory): Enter the contact’s first name.
- Last Name (optional): Enter the contact’s last name.

Phone Number (mandatory).
- Select number type (Choose from Work, Mobile, Home, Fax, and Other).
- Select the country code from the dropdown list.
- Enter the Phone Number.
- Add multiple numbers if required by clicking “+Add Number”.
- Location (mandatory): Choose one or multiple locations from the dropdown.
- Groups (optional): Select the required group from the dropdown.
- Click Create Contact to save.
Option 2: Import Contacts
- Click Import Contacts.
- The following dialog box will appear. Drag and drop or click the contacts list you wish to import as an .xls or .xlsx file.
- Ensure the file follows the required format. You can download the sample file to get started.
- Once you have added all your contacts to the Excel sheet, drag and drop or click to attach the file in the space as shown.
- Click Import to finish the upload.

Update a Contact
1. Click the pencil icon to modify contact details.
2. In the dialog box, edit the details of the existing contact.
3. Click Update Contact to make the necessary changes.
- For more actions, click on the three-dot menu:
- Block a contact
- Delete a contact
Groups Section
The Groups tab helps you organise contacts for easier management and filtering.
Viewing Groups
- Displays a list of all groups along with their contact count.
- Each group has action options to edit or manage it.
Create a Group
1. Click +Create Group.
- Enter a Group Name.
- Click Create Group.
- Groups can later be assigned while creating or editing contacts.
Edit a Group
1. Click on the pencil icon as shown below.
2. A dialog box pops up to edit the group name. Make the required change and click Update Group.
Delete a Group
1. To delete a group, click on the three-dot menu and click Delete Group.
2. A confirmation dialog appears asking you to confirm whether you want to delete the group. Click Remove.
Blocked Section
- The Blocked section lists all contacts that have been blocked.
Blocked Contacts View
- Displays blocked contacts along with:
- Phone number
- Group
- Location
- Status (Blocked)
- The user can delete or unblock the contact by clicking the three-dot menu in the Action column.

Let’s learn how to add and manage contacts and groups in the Agent App.
Create a Contact
1. On the Agent App, select Contacts from the left navigation pane.
2. Click + Create Contact.
3. In the Add Contact window, enter the following details:
- First Name (mandatory): Enter the contact’s first name.
- Last Name (optional): Enter the contact’s last name.

Phone Number (mandatory)
- Select number type (Choose from Work, Mobile, Home, Fax, and Other).
- Select the country code from the dropdown list.
- Enter the phone number.
- Add multiple numbers if required by clicking “Add Number.”
- Location (mandatory): Choose one or multiple locations from the dropdown.
- Groups (optional): Select from the dropdown.
4. Click Create Contact to save.
Update a Contact
1. Click the pencil icon to modify contact details.
2. A dialog box pops up to edit the group name.
3. Make the required change and click Update Contact.
- From the Contacts section, you can quickly call or send an SMS to a contact.
- Use the three-dot menu to block or delete a contact.
| Note: Agents can only view and interact with contacts from their assigned locations. |

1. To delete the group, click on the three-dot menu and choose Delete Group.

1. Click '+Create Group'.
2. Enter a Group Name.
3. Click Create Group.
- Groups can later be assigned while creating or editing contacts.
Blocked Section
- The Blocked section lists all contacts that have been blocked.
- Displays blocked contacts along with:
- Phone number
- Group
- Location
- Status (Blocked)
- User has the option to Delete or Unblock the contact by clicking on the three-dot menu.
| Note: Blocked contacts will not be able to interact through the system until they are unblocked. |
